BUBI – RELIEF CAGES

BUBİ’s “Relief Cages and Sculptures” Exhibition at DG Art Project

BUBİ, one of the distinctive figures of Turkish contemporary art, meets art lovers at DG Art Project with the exhibition titled “Relief Cages and Sculptures,” curated by Zeynep Öztürk, on view between April 27 and June 27, 2023. The selection, composed of works from different periods of the artist’s production, offers a comprehensive view of the unique world he has constructed through material, form, and language of expression.

Having held numerous solo exhibitions both in Turkey and abroad, BUBİ goes beyond conventional art materials in this exhibition at DG Art Project, incorporating waste materials such as cardboard, fabric, rope, and rags into his production process. The primitive and raw woven textures present in the artist’s works, together with cage forms that are at times constructed in a more ordered manner, can be interpreted as reflections of different emotional states within his inner world.
