Yves Klein

Yves Klein was a French artist, born in Nice, France, on April 28, 1928, and passed away in Paris on June 6, 1962. He began his artistic career in 1947 by composing his first Monotone Symphony, then trained in judo in Japan. In 1955, he settled in Paris where he established himself in the art world. Klein pioneered abstract and minimalism with his art, particularly known for his monochrome blue paintings. He also created marks on canvases with painted female models in his 'Anthropometry' performances. Klein's most famous work is his 1960 photograph, "Saut dans le vide" (Leap into the Void). The artist passed away suddenly at the age of 34.
