Tavares Strachan
Tavares Strachan, a contemporary artist and thinker, was born on December 16, 1979, in Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas. Strachan explores themes such as science, history, mythology, and exploration in his art, adopting a multidisciplinary approach in his works. He currently lives in New York and Nassau.
The artist gained his first artistic experiences as a child through his family's participation in the Junkanoo festival. This festival offers a rich cultural experience with live music, dance, and handmade costumes. He received his bachelor's degree in Glass Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2003 and his master's degree in Sculpture from Yale University in 2006.
