Pablo Atchugarry
Pablo Atchugarry, born on August 23, 1954, in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, is an internationally recognized sculptor. In his early years, he was interested in painting, but over time, he also began working with different materials such as cement, iron, and wood. Traveling to Europe in 1977, Atchugarry started working in Italy's famous Carrara marble quarries, where his interest in marble sculptures grew. In 1987, he opened his first solo sculpture exhibition in Milan. The artist's works have found a wide place in both private and public collections, hosting more than 100 solo and group exhibitions. In Uruguay, his sculpture "Seed of Hope" is located in the garden of the parliament building in the capital, Montevideo. He also established a museum bearing his name in Lecco, Italy. Atchugarry's works combine abstract and figurative elements, inviting the viewer to a spiritual experience.
