Oliver Beer
Oliver Beer, born in England in 1985, is a visual artist and composer. After studying music composition in London, he studied visual arts at the Ruskin School of Art at the University of Oxford and cinema theory in Paris. His artistic practice combines his education in music and visual arts, producing sculptures, installations, videos, and live performances that reveal the hidden acoustic properties of objects and spaces. In "The Resonance Project," which he started in 2007, he explored the natural resonances of different spaces using the human voice and engaged the audience in this experience. Beer's art explores the unifying power of music and sound throughout history, across generations, and interculturally. In his works, he investigates social and family relationships, the transmission of musical heritage, and the personal and cultural meanings of objects. His works invite audiences to rethink their perceptions of sound and space by interacting with objects and spaces.
