Lorenzo Quinn
Lorenzo Quinn is a contemporary Italian sculptor born on May 7, 1966, in Rome, Italy. He is the son of the famous actor Anthony Quinn. He completed his art education at the American Academy of Fine Arts in New York and began his career as a painter. However, he soon turned to sculpture and became known for his works that express human emotions and universal concepts, particularly through the use of hands. One of Quinn's most famous works is the sculpture "Support," exhibited in Venice in 2017. In this piece, a pair of giant hands is depicted supporting a historic building, drawing attention to the effects of climate change and rising sea levels. In 2019, he presented "Building Bridges" as part of the Venice Biennale. This sculpture is a work in which six pairs of hands come together to form bridges, symbolizing friendship, wisdom, help, hope, faith, and love. The artist often uses human figures and hands in his works to explore themes such as love, faith, and the passage of time. His works combine both classical and modern styles, deeply exploring the human experience.
