Hernan Bas

Hernan Bas is an American artist born in Miami, Florida in 1978. He completed his art education at the New World School of the Arts in Miami in 1996. His work is often inspired by 19th-century Aesthetic and Decadent writers, particularly Oscar Wilde and Joris-Karl Huysmans. His pieces explore themes such as adolescent adventures, supernatural occurrences, classical poetry, religious stories, mythology, and literature. Bas lives and works in Miami and Detroit.
