Ekrem Yalçındağ
Ekrem Yalçındağ (born 1964 in Adıyaman) is a contemporary Turkish painter. He began his art education at Izmir Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Fine Arts, where he completed his master's degree. Between 1994 and 1999, he studied in Germany at the Städelschule in Frankfurt with the renowned Austrian artist Prof. Hermann Nitsch. In his art, he brings a modern interpretation to traditional craftsmanship and ornamental arts by using geometric and repetitive motifs. With this approach, he strengthens the connection between art and design and expresses traditional painting techniques with a contemporary language. Yalçındağ's works are featured in prestigious museums such as Istanbul Modern, showcasing the artist's ability to interpret traditional motifs with a modern perspective.
