Cy Twombly
Cy Twombly (April 25, 1928 – July 5, 2011) was an American painter, sculptor, and photographer, regarded as one of the leading figures in contemporary American art. Born in Lexington, Virginia, Twombly developed an interest in art at an early age and pursued his education at the School of Fine Arts in Boston. In his art career, he produced works associated with abstract expressionism and neo-dadaism, and was particularly known for his drawings enriched with emotional intensity and allusions.
