Cheyenne Julien
Cheyenne Julien, born in 1994, is an American painter from the Bronx, New York. She received her BFA in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in 2016. Her artistic practice explores personal experiences and communal histories; her paintings and drawings, which draw from memory, are inspired by her closest relationships and life in New York. Through portraits, landscapes, and still lifes, she emphasizes the relationships between spaces and objects. Her works address intersecting themes such as environmental racism and gentrification, inviting the viewer to look beyond the everyday.
