César Piette

César Piette is a French artist, born in Lille, France in 1982, and currently residing in Côte d’Azur. He completed his master's degree in Graphic Arts and Design at École Émile Cohl in Lyon and worked on video games and illustrations for companies such as Ubisoft and Ankama between 2005 and 2012. ​ Piette blends traditional techniques with modern approaches in his art, masterfully using elements like monochrome layers, perspective, light, and composition. His "hyperplastic" works, created with airbrush technique, feature three-dimensional effects that intersect with fields such as design, photography, and advertising. By addressing classical subjects from a modern perspective, he makes references to art history. ​ Piette's works have been exhibited in prestigious galleries like Almine Rech. For example, his solo exhibition "Butterfly Paintings" was held at Almine Rech Gallery in New York in 2023. Additionally, he held his first museum exhibition titled "Render" at the chi K11 art museum in Shanghai in 2024. ​
