Arnaldo Pomodoro

Arnaldo Pomodoro is a sculptor born in Morciano di Romagna, Italy, on June 23, 1926. He spent his childhood and education in Pesaro. He lived and worked in Milan from 1954 onwards. Pomodoro's works in the 1950s are high reliefs, interpreted as a form of "writing" previously unseen in sculpture. His brother, Giò Pomodoro (1930–2002), was also a renowned sculptor. One of the artist's most famous works, "Sphere Within Sphere," is found in the collections of prestigious institutions such as the Vatican Museums, Trinity College Dublin, the United Nations Headquarters, and Rockefeller University in New York.
