Albert Oehlen

Albert Oehlen is a German painter, installation artist, and musician, born on September 17, 1954, in Krefeld, Germany. He began his art career in the 1980s as one of the leading figures of the Neo-Expressionist and Neue Wilde movements. He studied under Sigmar Polke at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg. Oehlen, who blends abstract and conceptual approaches in his art, is known for his large-scale canvas works and computer-aided paintings. Throughout his career, he has worked with prestigious galleries such as Max Hetzler and Gagosian, and his works have been exhibited in many museums worldwide.
