“Yedigören’s Alphabet”

The works exhibited in “Yedigören’s Alphabet” contain a symbolic language through which the artist elaborates his understanding of mythology with refined, comprehensive, and intellectually challenging complexity. Güneştekin reinterprets and transforms symbols through mythology, which functions as the structural principle of his thinking.

In works where language is incorporated into imagery and spiral structures merge with mythological forms, patterns of migration and transformation within symbols become visible. He employs myth as a meta-language — a way of seeing — through which complex meanings are both deciphered and constructed.

Güneştekin’s fascination with light, time, and the cosmic realm of stars manifests itself in his sculptures created with metal forms. By merging temporal space with celestial phenomena, he allows the natural forms and forces of the cosmos to shape his works. Drawing on the fundamental behavior of celestial light, he integrates light into nearly all of his artistic practices.
